Who We Are

Mission: To provide quality hands-on environmental education to children and adults, individuals and organizations.

Founded in 1984, our non-profit, volunteer-supported center offers visitors an opportunity to learn more about the history and wildlife of the Horicon Marsh area. Visitors can hike the trails, learn about nature at one of the education programs, join us for special weekend events, or bring a group for camping.

What We Do

Marsh Haven Nature Center provides engaging nature education and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages.

  • Our museum exhibits showcase the history and wildlife of the Horicon Marsh area, featuring displays on glaciers, Native American history, pioneers, wetlands, and woodlands. Young visitors can explore hands-on activities in the Nature Nook Children’s Area, including a wolf den crawl and Discovery Backpacks for outdoor adventures.
  • We offer educational programs for schools, organizations, daycares, homeschool families, and community groups, covering topics such as wildlife, nature art, and bird conservation. Our traveling animal ambassador program brings live animal experiences to schools, libraries, and care facilities, promoting respect for wildlife.
  • Marsh Haven hosts seasonal events, including the Earth Day Celebration, Fall Living History Festival, Monsters on the Marsh, and Christmas at Marsh Haven. We also provide Scout badge programs and workshops for adults on topics like nature journaling and wildlife education.
