Who We Are

Mission: To create and maintain affordable housing, as an ecumenical Christian housing ministry, through partnerships to positively impact individuals, families, our community, and the environment.

Habitat for Humanity of Washington and Dodge Counties is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and providing families with safe, affordable homes. Originally founded in 1995 by Rev. Sharon Stier and Russ Wanta, the organization became an official Habitat for Humanity International affiliate in 1998.

Through volunteer efforts, donations, and partnerships, we continue to grow and serve families in need. Our ReStore locations in West Bend and Beaver Dam provide a sustainable source of funding, selling new and gently used building materials, appliances, and furniture. With each project, we strive to offer a hand up, not a handout, by empowering families to achieve homeownership through affordable, interest-free loans and sweat equity.

What We Do

Habitat for Humanity of Washington and Dodge Counties provides affordable housing solutions through:

  • Homeownership Program – Building and selling homes to low-income families with 0% interest loans and financial education.
  • A Brush with Kindness – Helping low-income homeowners with critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, and exterior improvements.
  • ReStore – Selling discounted home improvement materials and furniture to support Habitat’s mission.

With community support and faith-driven values, we are committed to creating a future where everyone has a safe and decent place to live in Washington and Dodge Counties.
