Who We Are
Mission: To develop opportunities for people and communities to realize their potential by providing resources and comprehensive services to empower those to become self-sufficient and independent.
Central Wisconsin Community Action Council (CWCAC) is a community-based not-for-profit organization that has been in continuous operation since 1966 when it was established as part of this nation’s War on Poverty led by President Lyndon Baines Johnson. CWCAC operates a variety of state and federal programs to assist low-income families in becoming self-sufficient and to help our communities grow and prosper. CWCAC serves the five counties of Adams, Columbia, Dodge, Juneau and Sauk. We have an office in each county including our Central Administrative office in Wisconsin Dells.
What We Do
Central Wisconsin Community Action Council (CWCAC) strives to lift people out of poverty and into a better quality of life.
Beaver Dam Community Food Pantry provides a Free Senior Stock box of supplementary food to low-income seniors every month. This free box of healthy food is for people age 60+ who have a monthly income of $1,632 or less per month ($2,215 for a two-person household). $583 for each additional person in the household.
At CWCAC, our volunteers are a vital part of our team and make a lasting difference in our clients’ lives. Volunteers add an extra layer of support to clients, their families, visitors, agency staff, and fellow volunteers.
