Volunteer: Volunteer Adult Mentor

A volunteer mentor, or "Big," is a caring adult who provides guidance, support, and friendship to a young person ("Little") facing adversity, helping them build confidence, improve their school performance, and avoid risky behaviors through consistent, positive interactions and shared activities, typically meeting 2-4 times a month for at least a year. Bigs form strong, trusting bonds with their Littles, spend quality time doing fun, educational things like playing sports, going to museums, reading, or helping with homework. They serve as role models, demonstrating positive behaviors, helping Littles explore careers, and setting educational goals.
