Needs From: Volunteer Dodge

NAMI Dodge County is looking for Family Support Group Facilitators to be able to expand our program and offer more groups during a month. Volunteers interested need to have a good listening ear and a sensitivity to reading people to offer compassionate support.

Those interested in facilitating will also need to meet the following requirements per NAMI Wisconsin:

Must be a NAMI member (open door memberships are $5) Must have attended a 2 day training: October 28-29, 2022 (9-5), Fox Valley Technical Center (Appleton) Must be a person whose family member has experienced mental health illness

If you have a passion for helping people and are able to meet the above requirements, then we want to hear from you! Volunteer facilitating would occur 1-2 times monthly for 1.5 hour sessions; there will be a virtual session and an in person session from which to choose. Thanks for checking out NAMI Dodge County!

NAMI Dodge County is looking for facilitators for a new program called The Family Experience, a presentation for general adult audiences to reflect the experiences of a family member of someone with a mental illness. Volunteers interested need to be willing to share their experiences within a group setting.

Those interested in facilitating will also need to meet the following requirements per NAMI Wisconsin:

Must be a NAMI member (open door memberships are $5) Must have attended a 1 day training: offered on September 17, 2022 (10-3:30) at NAMI Fox Valley (Appleton) Must have a family member who has experienced a mental illness

Must be a NAMI member (open door memberships are $5) Must have attended a 2 day training: offered on October 15 (9-5) and October 22 (9-5), 2022--this will be a virtual training Must be a person who has experienced mental health challenges but has moved forward in their recovery

NAMI Dodge is looking for enthusiastic people interested in mental health to join our board of directors. We are seeking volunteers to support our mission of education, support and advocacy. This role would be an advisory volunteer board position that would include 4 - 6 hours a month as part of monthly board meetings and volunteer responsibilities. 

 

If you have an interest in helping your community, helping those living with a mental illness, and have an area of expertise that would benefit our organization please consider joining us. We are looking for people with experience in fundraising, organizing, accounting, legal matters, mental health perspective, and providers. Please put your skills to good use. BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color) & LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and related communities) encouraged to apply.

NAMI Dodge County is looking for children-loving adults to facilitate a school aged program (grades 3-5) explaining the basics of mental health in an engaging and simple way.  The presentation is 30-45 minutes in length and is generally delivered to the targeted age group during the course of a school day. This volunteer opportunity would be PERFECT for a retiree!

Those interested in facilitating will also need to meet the following requirements per NAMI Wisconsin:

Must be a NAMI member (open door memberships are $5) Must have attended a day long training (training opportunities TBA)
