Friends of Horicon National Wildlife Refuge

Mission: To promote conservation, awareness, and appreciation of the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge and to provide assistance to Refuge programs.

Our Friends of Horicon National Wildlife Refuge (FOHNWR) is a citizen-based, non-profit (501c3) organization formed in 2001 to promote awareness and appreciation of the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge and the greater Horicon Marsh and to provide assistance to the refuge programs (Visitor Services, Biology, Fire, Maintenance).

Since our establishment, FOHNWR have reached thousands of visitors through special events and outreach programs including the 5K Run/Walk for Wildlife, Earth Day Celebration, Wildflowers for Wildlife native plant sale, and Wisconsin Junior Duck Stamp Program Reception annual events as well as hosting numerous environmental education programs for local youth.
