At The Bread Basket Food Pantry, we believe that how food is shared is just as important as the food itself. We use a checkout-style system that gives our guests the same welcoming, respectful experience they’d have at any grocery store.
We’re looking for friendly, caring volunteers to serve as checkout assistants—a role that’s all about smiles, conversation, and making people feel valued. Your job? Simply remove the food items from guests’ carts, place them into bags, and offer a warm “thank you” as they head out. It’s about being the last friendly face they see before leaving with food for their families.
