Description

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, this is a beautiful opportunity to serve our local seniors with kindness, dignity, and care. The Bread Basket is seeking dependable volunteer pairs (spouses, neighbors, church members) with an SUV to help deliver food to low-income senior living facilities and assist during distribution. Your presence helps ensure that seniors feel welcomed, supported, and respected—while they get the groceries they need.

Distribution at a senior facility lasts about 1 hour. Please plan for about 2 hours total, including loading at The Bread Basket, driving, and setup.

What You’ll Do: Pick up a load of food at The Bread Basket. Deliver to the assigned senior living facility/facilities. (Park Hill and/or Johnson Arms) Set up items neatly in the common area. Welcome seniors, have them sign in, and help create a calm, respectful shopping experience.

Offer simple support as needed—helping choose items or reading labels when requested

Return the sign-up sheet and any totes to The Bread Basket the following day.

What Matters Most: A warm, patient heart. Many of our seniors are doing their best on limited incomes, and a friendly presence and "hello" can mean just as much as the food itself.
